@d8400: Made an account just to say this. Some of you guys are weird as hell, stop it. This is turning into an antisocial obsession for some of you. It's not worth it, I promise you…..

EDIT: the now deleted comment if anyone's interested:

"did you use the excuse, just got back from the doctor and found out my dad is allergic to peanuts. i brought these for dad but now dad cant eat it….he is the only person in our hosehold who eat peanut butter… try with a different person when you do your refund…its a hit and miss, depend who you get and if they are empathic or or cold hearted a***hole"

Cheapies, please don't be like this person. This is not normal behaviour.

            • @weirdashell: Yeah that's a bit too far.
I went to the shop to buy another 6 at the new lower price hence want to try my luck at returning the old order.

              • @Zyo: Did you purchase online? Try your luck contacting support to ask them to refund the difference.

I did exactly the same. What was a great price now sucks haha

      • +3

Almost bought them yesterday but there were still tons left so decided to take my time. Hmm should I buy now or wait for the 50c clearance? lol

        • Good question… 🤔

        • +1

That's my thought as well but the email ($1 Peanut Butter 🥜 + more weekend deals) should've floored the pricing at $1 until Sunday at least.

  • the smooth version doesnt hav great reviews, everyones complaining about amount of oil, the crunchy has no bad reviews

    • +1

Both have quite a bit of oil I usually just drain them out.

I think the main issue people don't like them is because they have no added salt hence doesn't taste as good. But I actually prefer them this way

      • no added salt, damn i'll have to add my own, ingredients say roasted peanuts are they roasted in added oil,

    • The crunchy has more oil than usual but mix it properly and it's fine for cooking or smoothies etc.

  • What's the expiry date for these? Short dated?

      End of 2024

Epic deal, just got 10 for click and collect later. Cheers!

    • i get charged 3 dollars for click collect

      • What store? I just tried a bunch on the website, and they all say free click and collect, even with just 1 jar in the basket?

        • oops,i wasnt logged in tomy warehoue account wen idid, isee clickcollect free

      • 182 available at local before Click & Collect fees kick-in.

      • Checkout shows "MarketClub Free Standard Sized Ship to Store -$2.99". So I guess if you don't have a free MarketClub membership they charge the $3.

    • What do you use it for other than spread on bread?

Also a treat for dogs, can put some inside a kong and keeps them entertained for a while! If youre able to, also good to get some extras and pop into local food donation bin.

Put it in smoothies mainly to add protein. Bananas, peanut butter, dates, vanilla extract, pinch of salt - boom salted caramel smoothie. Also will make lots of satay sauce for bbq skewers. It's also nice in raw food dessert recipes.

  • Just got one for $2 ytd lol

The bigger question is "Why are The Warehouse selling Peanut Butter for $1?"

Clearance price before discontinuing, reformulating or resourcing?

More loss leading and free media coverage like Weet-Bix and $5 eggs?

    • Unfavourable reviews or manufacturing fault of the lid (doesn't turn well at times)

  • I bought 10, although one jar had a bad seal and leaked everywhere so might pay to check them when you pick them up.

  • +1

I bought 4 yesterday, tried the smooth today.
yeah a bit runny with oil even after digging and mixing down to the bottom.
also a bit bland but easily fixed with a sprinkle of salt.
All in all fantastic value at this price. Not sure how much it was originally.
Will go back to get more today. :)

    • I've stuck mine in the fridge to see if it helps with texture otherwise its too runny for bread but still a great price to use in recipes!

    • +1

It's normally $4.50 stated above. Limit now 6 of each.

      • at $4.50 I'd stick with our regular Fix and Fogg :D

      • I checked the white (old) sticker price behind the yellow clearance one, it says only $2

    • yeah i added salt to mine too

Pams extra crunchy 1kg at $5.49 is a better buy. Good taste + texture, properly sealed for freshness, and it doesn't have 10% oil on top. Suspect that's why this is being dumped - oil puts people off and they're not moving it quick enough

    • 1kg at $5.49 is a better buy.

OK, but it's twice as expensive. Does it taste twice as good?

doesn't have 10% oil on top. Suspect that's why this is being dumped

You can just dump the oil though?

  • 3 Tablespoons from the top of a jar of crunchy, happy to use it for cooking.

What has got me thinking though is:

    "INGREDIENTS: roasted peanuts (100%)…
Made in Argentina from local and imported ingredients."

So we cant be entirely sure as to where the peanuts come from…

(Edited to correct a spelling mistake)
